The Indigestible

Missives From the Reality-Based World

I think Hillary Clinton has lost my vote too. Apparently there has been some discussion of employing nukes — nukes! — against terrorist cells; Clinton refused to say whether or not she’d use them.

The yield of even a small weapon is so tremendous that setting one off to kill the average cluster of terrorists would affect hundreds, if not thousands, of others.

Nukes?

Holy shit. And I thought invading Pakistan was bad.

I’m not as upset with the democratic pool of 08 presidential candidates as you are (I would love to have Richardson, Kucinich, Edwards, Obama, etc. representing the US). But Hillary Clinton really rubs me the wrong way. I haven’t been following the debates or campaigns recently, but I saw the first two major dem debates earlier this year, and I felt Clinton had two strong messages (which I’ll paraphrase):

“Everything is Bush’s fault” (It feels so manipulative when she says it too… obviously Bush’s approval ratings are down, and it seems like she’s milking it for all she can, instead of acknowledging her own role in sending us to Iraq, like Edwards did)

“The Iraqis really need to get their shit together” (I was yelling at my TV every time she made some comment about how the Iraqis need to “take responsibility” and get their country in order after we tore it all up)

When I read Felbers spot on post: http://fanaticalapathy.com/2007/08/01/dear-iraq/ I thought immediately of Hillary.

Of all the democratic candidates, Hillary strikes me as the most war-hawkish. I have to doubt she’d ever be humanity-impaired enough to use nukes though… right?

On a completely separate note, are html tags allowed in comments?

  2. Hey, Kucinich-Gore would be great. Or Gore-Kucinich. I don’t really care either way. ;)
I agree on Clinton, though. She’s just not my idea of a good candidate. And you’re probably right that she wouldn’t actually use nukes; however, she refused to say they were “off the table”.

And yes, HTML tags work. href, b, i and blockquote should all function normally.
